TJDG is a startup inspired by a collective love of thrifting and repurposing. We make up-cycled and repurposed items available thru select pop-up events and an e-store and part of our proceeds go towards helping single-moms in need. The idea to turn this into a business started in the Fall of 2019, since then we have recruited a few other friends who are vintage enthusiasts from our colleges: Cal Poly, UC Berkeley, UCLA, LMU and UW. Learn more.
Every year, tons of mass-produced goods go into landfills. By joining the vintage and re-purpose movements, you help break that trend. By keeping vintage treasures out of the landfills and repurposing them we are helping to save our planet and save a tiny piece of history.
Buying vintage lets you add classic, stylish, well-made items to your wardrobe. It keeps those items in use and removes you from the cycle of poorly-made, short-lived clothing.
Join us in making ethical choices with style!
We want to connect old treasures to new owners while bolstering women-in-need.
Our first beneficiary is a single mom who endured an unhealthy marriage, suffered severe financial losses during Hurricane Harvey, and is recovering from the recent death of her 18 year-old son, and now dealing with job loss as a result of Covid-19. The proceeds from all of our Pop-up's and Online Events in 2020 will help get our beneficiary a safe living space with her children so the healing process can start, as well as provide coaching, job training and seed funding to start her own business.
